Ms. Frank Sample Sight Word List
Hi Parents!
We had a fantastic first day. The kids are so sweet and work very well together. I know this is going to be a great year! Today we came up with the following rules as a class:
We will be reviewing these rules every day and ask that you please review them at home too! Coming home in yellow folders today is homework for you. J Please take a look at it and have it back to me by this Friday. Yellow folders need to be sent back to school every day. Thursday folders will come home this Thursday. Picture forms will be in there for next week. If you pay for pictures, please hold on to the money until the day of pictures. There will also be weekly progress reports that indicate behavior for the week. Please sign and place back in Thursday folders. Please make sure to send a snack for students too. Remember to continue checking out the class Weebly. It is still under construction but will be updated throughout the year. Also, since there are two Ms. Frank’s in Kindergarten, if you have a change of dismissal, please make sure to write my first name (Alexis) on this form so that the office is able to put them in the correct box. Also, in addition to peanut allergies, we have a student with tree nut allergies. Please avoid bringing group snacks/birthday treats that have this ingredient in them too. As always, please let me know if you have any questions! Ms. Frank Hi Parents!
It was wonderful meeting you all Friday and I am so excited to have your children in my class this year. It will be a busy, but fun year, and I look forward to teaching your students. Every week (usually on Sunday) I will send a weekly update via email which includes things such as class sight words and word families for the week, topics we are studying/standards, and important things going on in our classroom/school like when we are going to the library, any testing we might be doing, etc. This year we also have a new mode of communication/giving information. Each teacher has a “Weebly” which includes our schedule, class list, homework, and many other resources. The weekly update that I send every Sunday will also be available on Weebly. You can access our classroom’s Weebly page at the following link: http://frankkindergarten.weebly.com/ This week we will be going over classroom and school rules and procedures. We will also be doing a lot of getting to know you activities. We will be reading stories such as “Chrysanthemum”, “First Day Jitters”, “Wemberly Worried,” and others. I will also be introducing classroom centers- the listening center, reading center and library, computers, etc. We will also be doing an activity which requires magazines. If you have any magazines you can donate to our classroom, we would greatly appreciate it! Our specials schedule is as follows: Monday-Music with Mrs. Trude Tuesday-Spanish with Ms. Murdock Wednesday-PE with Coach Gartman Thursday-Art with Mrs. Nowlin Friday-PE with Coach Gartman Please make sure students wear tennis shoes on PE days. Please remember to send a healthy snack each day for your child. You can also send water bottles for your children to keep in their cubbies if you would like, but we do have a water fountain J Once we get room parents and the Eagle Alliance web page set up, I will ask for a volunteer each month to send in a snack of some sort for students who forget to bring a snack or don’t have one. Last year some of my parents went to Sam’s or Costco and got a couple big tubs of Goldfish, applesauce, string cheese, etc. We do have students with peanut allergies, so I ask that you please don’t send any snacks with students that contain peanuts. There will also be other volunteer opportunities available on the EA webpage! A frequently asked question I get a lot too is about birthdays. You are welcome to bring in store bought snacks that don’t contain peanuts to lunch. We ask that you serve the treats towards the end of lunch so students can eat their meal first. Our lunch time every day is from 10:35-11:05. (We eat snack in the afternoon.) Lastly, If you know of someone in our class that did not receive this email or I need to use a different email for you, please let me know so I can get that fixed for you as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me! Ms. Frank |
